This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies AutoSound24 (a trading name of LEUPEN Group B.V.) uses on this website, for what purpose, and how you can adjust or withdraw your choices at any time.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. This allows the site to recognise you on a subsequent visit or measure your interaction. Some cookies are necessary to make the site work; others are only placed if you give your consent.
Our cookie practices comply with the European ePrivacy Directive (Article 5(3)), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, for the United Kingdom, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
2. How we handle consent
On your first visit, our cookie banner displays three equal options: Preferences, Reject, and Accept. Until you make a choice, we do not place any analytics or marketing cookies — only strictly necessary functional cookies (for example, to remember your language choice) are active at that time.
Your choice is stored in the _lo_consent cookie and remains valid for 6 months. After that, we will ask you again. You can adjust your choice at any time via the Adjust Cookie Preferences button at the bottom of this page or in the footer of the site.
3. Which cookies we place
The table below contains all the cookies we place or have placed on our behalf via our tracking pixels. All cookies are first-party: they are set from autosound24.nl (or the ccTLD on which you visit our site), not from a third-party domain.
3.1 Functional cookies — always active, no consent required
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
lo_locale | Remembers your chosen language | 1 year |
lo_channel | Remembers whether you have visited our B2B environment (MarMotive) | 1 hour |
_lo_consent | Stores your consent choice | 6 months |
next-auth.session-token | Keeps you logged into your account | 30 days |
cart_id | Retains your shopping cart during your visit | 30 days |
3.2 Analytics cookies — only after "Statistics" consent
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
_lo_cid | Own first-party visitor ID for session stitching | 400 days |
_lo_sid | Session ID, renews after 30 min of inactivity | 30 minutes (rolling) |
_ga | Google Analytics 4 client ID — measures how many people visit our site and which pages are popular | 400 days |
The analytics data is aggregated. We do not use Google Analytics to track you individually or to build a personal profile.
3.3 Marketing cookies — only after "Marketing" consent
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta (Facebook/Instagram) browser ID — measures which advertisements led to a purchase and enables us to show advertisements on other sites | 90 days |
_fbc | Meta click ID — set if you arrive at our site via a Meta advertisement | 90 days |
_ttp | TikTok browser ID — similar purpose to _fbp | 13 months |
_ttclid | TikTok click ID — set if you arrive via a TikTok advertisement | 90 days |
_gclid | Google Ads click ID — set if you arrive via a Google Ads advertisement | 90 days |
4. What we do not use
Unlike many other webshops, we consciously choose not to load several commonly used tracking scripts:
- No Google Tag Manager (web container) — we manage our tracking code directly in our own source code, not via an external tag management platform.
- No Facebook Pixel JavaScript (
fbevents.js) — Meta measurement data is sent server-side via the Conversions API, not from your browser. - No TikTok Pixel JavaScript — TikTok measurement data is also sent server-side.
- No third-party advertising networks that build profiles across multiple websites (such as AddThis, Criteo, etc.).
As a result, our site contributes to a lower block rate by adblockers, and your browsing behaviour is less fragmented across external parties.
5. Server-side tracking
Part of our measurements — in particular registering a purchase with Meta and TikTok — is done server-side. This means: as soon as you pay for an order, our server (not your browser) sends a measurement message to the relevant platform. In doing so, your email address, telephone number, and IP address are transmitted in an encrypted format (SHA-256 hash) so that the platform can link the purchase to a previous advertisement impression. This server-side transmission only occurs if you have given marketing consent; upon rejection, we send nothing.
6. Adjusting or withdrawing your choice
You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the button at the bottom of this page or via the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. In addition, you can manually delete or block cookies via your browser:
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies limits the functionality of our site: for example, you will no longer be able to check out or stay logged in.
7. Transfer outside the European Economic Area (EEA)
Some of our cookie providers are located in the United States. For these transfers, we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) where applicable, and on additional safeguards where it is not. A complete overview — including which party falls under which mechanism — can be found in our Privacy Policy under "Disclosure to third parties".
8. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example, if we engage a new measurement provider or if legislation changes. The date at the top of this page shows when this version was last updated. In the event of material changes, we will ask for your consent again via the cookie banner.
